Wayne Newton - Entertainer at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas
The “king of Las Vegas” Wayne Newton may not not be the king of his own castle soon.
According to the Las Vegas Sun, motorsports mogul Bruton Smith is suing Newton and his wife, claiming that they have failed to make payments on on a $3.35 million loan.
The Newtons asked Smith for a personal guarantee to obtain $3.75 million from Bank of America, which was to be secured by Casa de Shenandoah, Newton’s 38-acre ranch, plus a private jet valued at $2 million.
Delinquent since May 30, 2009, Smith’s lawsuit, filed in Las Vegas, asks for permission to foreclose on Newton’s property.
Unless Newton comes up with the cash soon, he may want to have a back up plan: a nice selection of Las Vegas vacation rentals. These range in price from $30 bucks a night to $3000 per night. Wayne can save big at the penthouse of Palm Place ($3000 per night). Its an easier commute (within walking distance to the Tropicana) anyway.
