Monte Cristi – Viscape 10-day Video Blog Tour of the Dominican Republic – Day 2 – part 2
Filed Under: Travel Tips
First stop for day two? Caroline and Dan drove to Monte Cristi, which is right next door to Haiti on the far northwest coast of the Dominican Republic. They trekked all the way across the Dominican to climb the famous “stairway to heaven” to catch the heavenly views, but unfortunately, the stairway was broken. The so-called “national park” didn’t seem like much of a park and there were no signs to mark it – but again, at least the views were fantastic (watch the video to see for yourself!).
On a side note, Monte Cristi was a very poor area – a shanty town. Because of its close proximity to Haiti, Monte Cristi is generally a very poor area. It was at least a 6 hour drive round trip from Puerto Plata. Watch the video to learn more about Caroline and Dan’s experience and what they saw. Stay tuned for part three of day two. The views they caught are promised to inspire and even better than the ones below!
