So, you wanna be a travel writer and spend your life flying around the world, staying in swanky vacation homes, dining in exotic restaurants, surfing the local beaches and exploring the indigenous markets?  Of course you do, who doesn’t?

But travel writing isn’t always thrilling, adventurous and glamorous.  Yes, you can do your fair share of swimming, sunning, surfing and skiing on someone else’s tab, but pitching stories and meeting deadlines can be challenging!  Not to mention that only a very small portion of people can live on the stipends that travel writing often pays.  So, wouldn’t it be great if you could write about your favorite destinations from where you want, when you want, while keeping your day job?

Now you ask…How can I be a travel writer without leaving my cubical or office?  The answer is simple-and completely risk free!  Enter Viscape’s “Be a Travel Writer” contest to see if you have what it takes to turn your dream of travel writing into a reality.

Over the past month, Viscape has received over 200 entries for our contest.  Some of the best destination reviews have been submitted for hot Viscape destinations such as Orlando, FL, Dewey Beach, DE and Park City, UT!  Haven’t been to those places? We cover lots more, like Vail, CO, Maui, HI, Costa Rica and St. John, US Virgin Islands.  Or be one of the first writers to review Naples, FL, Palm Springs, CA or Hilton Head, SC.

We want to give our community a “visual escape!”  So, if you provide lots of pictures and videos with your destination review it will be high on the judges’ radar!  Our expert panel of judges are looking for reviews with humor, sass, wit and authenticity.  Do you have what it takes to live your dream?  Do you have what it takes to “Be a Travel Writer?”

Added bonus: The first 1000 reviews posted will be entered into the contest for a chance to win a trip to Key West or Belize.
