Caroline Connects in Dewey Beach

The Delaware beaches continue to make my top ten list for fun vacation spots. Dewey and Rehoboth beaches offer the full package- a crazy fun party scene, fantastic beaches and the incredible rentals properties! But that is not all.

I just got back from an incredible trip to the Delaware beaches where I met the life-blood behind these incredible places. After making friends with past mayors, Bob Frederick and Pat Wright and meeting with Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce President, Carol Everhart, I realized that vacation spots are as much about the activities and must-see attractions as the people who run them. Carol runs the largest Chamber of Commerce in Delaware and provided me with great suggestions for venues for our Viscape launch party in Dewey Beach. She really pointed me in the right direction and had answers to all of my Dewey beach questions.

I went on some of Carol’s suggestions and had a great time scoping out our launch party site! Party details will be announced soon – but our Dewey party is sure to be the must attend blow-out of the summer!

Meeting and mingling with former mayors and current councilmen, was a real highlight of this trip! They shared their love of the Delaware beaches- City Councilman Rich Hanewinkel told me that he loves Viscape because there is a little bit of a lull in the rental market and he thinks this will help jump-start it.

Funny story…Bob Frederick, former mayor of Dewey Beach, came up and introduced himself to me. He had a very friendly demeanor and was always smiling. Surprised that I didn’t recognize his name, he looked at me and asked, “Do you know who I am?” I told him – “I now know who you are, Bob, and I know I should know who you are. So tell me.” He said, “I was the former mayor of Dewey Beach for 10 years from 1992 to 2002. And I’m back over there in the restaurant with another former mayor – Pat Wright and my wife. Would you like to join us?” Bob was very curious about what I was doing and he asked lots of questions. I was excited to share Viscape with him, his wife and Pat. Bob said he’d be totally up for coming to our unofficial launch party in DC on June 19^th to say a few words about the Delaware Beaches. I look forward to seeing him again at our DC unofficial launch party and sharing more beach stories!
