You’ve now found the answer to the meaning of life!

So, did you seriously think I was going to answer this for you? Well, you see, I’m a little bit of a jokester! But I’m always happy to have a philosophical discussion about the meaning of life, why we’re here, or whatever nutty thing comes to mind!

So……Viscape! Why Viscape? What is it? Why does it matter? And what does all this mean?

Whoa! Loaded question! I’m still stuck on the first one! So, let’s start there.

Abridged version – here goes….

The joke is that I’ve been building Viscape all my life, I just didn’t know it until recently. Really….not just me building this. I’m just one of many contributors to building Viscape, but I just want to share a few insights here….

I’ve worked in technology and in real estate here locally in Washington DC. My hobby – or passion – I should say – is traveling. Everywhere I go to on vacation, I always stop into local real estate offices and look at real estate. I like to get a sense of what properties are selling for, how robust (or not) the market is, and how real estate people do their jobs. I observed that there is a real lack of real estate information coming together in one place to make it super simple for someone to get up to speed on a market fast.

Heck! I’m on vacation! I don’t want to work on vacation! I really just wanted to get the quick and dirty update and hit the beach!

So, it didn’t matter where I went in the world – Florida, Costa Rica, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, US Virgin Islands, Mexico – I found that getting real estate information quickly and easily was a living nightmare. And it made me give up and not want to plan trips, look at houses to buy, etc. I just didn’t want to work that hard!

I knew technology could solve this! I knew that bringing all the best features, mapping, attractions, review-writing, etc. all together in one place was possible.

Let’s face it! Planning a trip using today’s online travel booking engines is a completely dull – let’s-get-it-over-with-as-fast-as-possible – experience.

I figured we could create a way for trip planning to be super fun! Its vacation for god sakes! People have fun on vacation! Why shouldn’t everyone have fun planning a vacation where everyone’s friends and families can have a say and take part in planning the trip!!!

So was born – Viscape!

Viscape or “visual escape” is about enabling people to have a blast planning a trip with friends around vacation homes! So have a blast!
